The annual Botany Conference is a multiple scientific society conference serving over 7,000 plant scientists and students whose research and practice span the globe. The conference encompasses the diverse scope of botanical study.  


Submit a poster?  
The All Society Poster Session is Monday, August 1, 5:30 - 7:00 pm.  
All posters must fit in a 4' x 4' spage - suggested size is 3.5' x 3.5'  (1.06 x 1.06 m)

Special Lectures 

Carl Zimmer will be the Plenary Lecturer - Sunday Evening  - July 31st
His talk - "Plants Are Weird: Epigenetics, Journalism, and the Alien Beauty of Botany."
Zimmer writes books, articles, essays, and blog posts in which he reports from the frontiers of biology, where scientists are expanding our understanding of life. Since 2013 he has been a columnist at the New York Times, where his column “Matter” appears each week.

Annals of Botany Lecture will be presented by Professor Anna Traveset and the title of her talk:  "Mutualistic networks in the Galápagos Islands and how alien species modify their structure."  Day and Time to be Announced

Botanical Society of America's Emerging Leader Special Lecture - Selena Smith

Regional Botany Special Lecture - "Ancient Mountains to Recent Shorelines: Adventures in the Flora of Georgia"  - Wendy Zomlefer and Linda Chafin

Enhancing Scientist Diversity in Plant Biology Luncheon - Juan Zalapa

Kaplan Memorial Lecture - "Heteroblasty and Heterophylly – when two programs collide" - Neelima Sinha
